Take your first step toward nursing

Choosing a nursing program is an important decision. Aberdeen Institute’s admissions process gives you an opportunity to understand the training, discuss your goals and review the requirements before enrolling.

Explore the requirements below, then contact our team to discuss your education, available cohorts and next steps.

Application requirements

What you will need to apply

Applicants to the Vocational Nursing program must:

  • Be at least 17 years old.
  • Provide documentation of high school graduation, a GED or an accepted equivalent.
  • Present valid, unexpired government-issued photo identification.
  • Meet the entrance examination requirement, unless an exemption is approved under the school’s transfer-credit policy.
  • Complete an admissions interview with the Program Director or designee.

If you completed your education outside the United States, official academic records and an appropriate credential evaluation are required. Admissions can explain acceptable documentation and whether qualifying college transcripts may serve as alternative evidence of high school completion.

Applicants requesting transfer credit must submit official transcripts for evaluation.

Admissions will explain how to provide required identity information, including an SSN or ITIN. Do not enter these numbers or submit medical documents through the website inquiry form.

Entrance examination

TEAS entrance examination

Applicants must achieve a minimum TEAS score of 41.7%. The initial examination costs $125, and retakes cost $75.

If you took the TEAS within the past two years, you may submit your official ATI score report to Aberdeen Institute. A verified score meeting the minimum requirement satisfies the examination requirement without taking the test again.

These requirements must be completed before your first clinical rotation. Admissions will provide the applicable checklist, forms and submission deadlines. Some requirements involve expenses paid separately by the student.
